Ghostface Killah listen'n party!

MONDAY 3.27.06

Personally my favorite m.c. from the legnedary Wu-Tang Clan. Ghostface Killah a.k.a GFK drops his latest cd which features production from the late J Dilla, Metal Fingerz DOOM, Pete Rock and others. GFK has always been ahead of some next shit, the mystery of the mask he used to wear on to the first album with him and Raekwon's explosive 1995 cd "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx", the duo came off with topics of the coke game, politics on the streets and La Costa Nostra. The man is back with his latest cd FishScale. At first you might be like fishscale? huh... what? Open up the cd insert and observe for yourself, the man is clever! The one thing I admire about GFK is that in addition to his straight up raw, smooth, grimy appeal, he has never been ashamed to show his Emo' side. Issues dealing with his lady on "Be Like That" and touching close to home with the song "Whip you with a strap". So Serio! Parents jus' do not discipline thurr' churrdrin no mo! Talking back, running they mouths, and plain and simple, NO RESPECT.

Listen'n party starts at 9pm. Cd giveaways and more from
Def Jam/Universal Records

Rock Box pelvic thrust thursdays!

Rock Box has been poppin off, SO SERIO! The website Rock Box Houston is up with only the flyers as of now but will be in full effect soon! This year has been good with guest dj's, listen'n party's, and The She Wants Revenge official after party was John Blaze with a 300 head turnout! Adam 12 rocked it til the sound was cut off! I didn't get to do a full recap on the show but you can peep more pics from the night at OneOctoberNight. This month is also the 1 yr. Anniversay. I'm expecting a huge turnout with DJ Mel headlining so make plans. Check out the recap and pics from the last time he came to play on Thanksgiving

It's been a minute on the update!

Haven't tapped into the blog for a bit, been non-stop and everytime that I say I need an update on Quickwits I slack. Well I'm back, not like I left, only to Austin for SXSW. Always nice to get away to Austin, even if its' only for a couple of days. Rolled down with Mike Frost on Friday straight to Factory People where we caught up with the dj's Cosmo Baker and DJ Ayers of the The Rub, Brooklyn. Ran into a bunch of peeps from Austin (Nick Nack, Starsign, Craig) , San Antonio (Scuba Gooding Sr., Mic Dagger and Chicago's (Adam, Spontanieos,DJ Piklz).
Thanks for all the mix tapes, I still have more that I need to cop! Nick's shit had me vibin' with dope remix's and laughs with the host shout'n "YEAH QUICK MIX WITH NICK NACK, you gotta peep it for yourself. Go buy it! My man Scuba's mix "Intersesting Blend" is on some true hip hop ish! Check for more info from the San Antonio dude and Prhymemates fam!

After that we hit up Gome where we caught some of Cee Plus and Chicken George's set. All I know is that after that we hit up some other locations along the strip, drinking and more drinking. The entire weekend was full of stunts and bowls! Saturday at The Fader Party I got down with them free Red Stripes. Swisher House was up in the mix, Michael 5000 Watts was holding it down between acts and I had to bust out the southside dance! All kinda' folks were up in there from Jessica @ Spectre Music, Len Lee who I finally got to meet in person, DJ Chill and Matt from Damage Control. Party was nice! So next year, seriously think about going to SXSW because it's definaltly a good place to party all the time like Eddie Murphy!
