Lets give it up to the sax players
There is an awesome story in the current issue of Wax Poetics on tenor sax player King Curtis. Straight outta' Ft.Worth Texas, he was the man that played the horns on The Coasters' "Yakety Yak", that should ring a bell.
Anyhow, this led me to reflect back on old hip hop videos that featured acting sax players in the mix. We all know they wern't really playing the sax or horns. They sure tried hard to look like they did and were not even close to looking like it was in sync. Eyes closed and blowing away, you gotta' love it. One of them had the sexy female on the beach pretending she had talent blowing that horn like she was catching a groove as the sun set. That would the the Wreckx-n-Effect video to "Rumpshaker". The other two are Biz Markie "The Vapors" and Queen Latifa "Unity". Enjoy!
