Houston, TX (01/14/07)—If you haven't heard by now, Thursday, January 31st is the last Rock Box--ever--at The Pro (903 Richmond, Hustletown)! We've decided to end the to this wildly popular weekly for a couple of reasons. Thanks to Metro, The Proletariat is the future site for a MetroRail station. Read the Houston Press for more on that. The other reason is because one of our favorite DJ Witnes is moving to Brooklyn, NY.


After going four years strong, Rock Box has chocked up tons of great memories, theme parties and special guest DJs (national and locals). Past guests include a virtual whos-who on the scene: Adam 12 (She Wants Revenge),14k and Devin The Dude, Debbie D (Avenue D), Caps and Jones, Oxy Cottontail, Prince Klassen, Bird Peterson, Empanadamn, Curtis Vodka, Purple Crush, Grimy Styles, Tittsworth, RadioClit, DJ Krames, Pase Rock, DJ Chill, Lil Keke, DJ Domo, DJ Mel, DJ Cat, Boys & Girls, Joe B, Kineka and the list goes on!


Witnes would like to thank everyone for supporting the night. To all those cool kids, booty shakers, party people, DJs, rappers, new media fiends, designers, photographers, promotion companies and many others who came together with their mix-match taste in music and made Rock Box so ghetto fabulous.


And many thanks to Denise Ramos, the bar staff, my partna Dayta and the Rock Box Crew (Gracie Chavez, Antonio (DIRB!), M.C. President Reko Trill, Squincy Jones, Stilletto, 7000ft tall). Couldn't have done it without you.
